Dream Prophecy, part 1

I still remember the date. It was the summer morning of August 15, 1987. I awoke from the most epic, vivid, and startling dream I ever had. I sat up in a daze, thinking of the images that had just marched past me. I knew this wasn’t an ordinary dream of random images. I knew that it actually meant something. And I didn’t have to sort through bizarre symbols to decode it. Everything I saw was literal and very real to me.

I grabbed a pen and wrote every detail I could think of. I will transcribe the actual dream itself here, but I wanted to give a brief commentary of it first.

In this dream I traveled to the year 2926. There was a sort of tour guide that showed me around. This guide visually reminded me of a college acquaintance I had at the time. He was very casual about the tour, as if he did it often. At one point, he even allowed me to look through history books and read about their history, which is our distant future.

Let me just say that many “seers” always seem to have predictions 5-15 years into the future – just long enough for a good book run. The images I saw were hundreds of years in the future, so there will be no way for me to live to see them manifest. But a few of the most vivid images I saw in that dream over 20 years ago have stayed with me to this day.

First, when opening a “current” map for the world in 2926, I was struck by the fact that the coasts of the United States – especially Florida – were larger than they are now. Upon awakening from my dream, I couldn’t explain why that would be the case except maybe that there was less water on earth for some reason. I have only recently learned that during an ice age, the coasts do in fact retreat, making for larger coastlines. This occurs because so much water is used for the formation of glaciers. Florida would in fact pick up a lot of additional coastal area during an ice age. This concept was completely unknown to me in 1987 as a 19-year old music student.

The second concept that I saw in the dream was the mention of a Hitler-esque historical figure from the 2500’s. I never actually heard his name, but my guide referred to him disparagingly. He was making fun of this historical figure’s name, by calling him “Popsol the Arab.” This was a poke at this leader’s name, not unlike you’d hear “Slick Willy” or “Dubya” today. All I gathered is that this leader from the 2500’s caused widespread death and was hated for generations. And, of course, he was from the Middle East.

Finally, I was shown a home of this time. The building materials were completely foreign, though I was told it was slightly similar to graphite of our time. Everything was minimal and much of what I saw was embedded in the walls. The walls themsevles were extremely thin, made of this odd material.

For years I marked “The Dream” on my calendar on August 15. I have had other prophetic dreams, some of which actually came true. Maybe I’ll post them here too. But this was the Big One. This was the moment I took a journey of epic proportions, a journey I shall never forget.
