Connecting The Dots – Google/Grant Scams Part 2
This is a sort of addendum to my Google/Grants scam list. That page contains a list of the sites pushing these products, and a short description. I recommend it if you haven’t see it yet.
The lists on this page are a sort of reverse-lookup of these sites. The first two lists are what the blogs themselves say you are getting. The first list is the “government grants” list, while the second list is the “make money from Google” list. The names are what the blogs use to describe it, and after each product, I list the websites I found using that description. The final list is what you will find when clicking on these links.

Many of these “landing” sites do not show a URL that means anything to the viewer, which I am guessing is on purpose. Most likely the fake blogs are affiliates, and the landing pages contain the originator of the products.
Note: Some of these blogs use more than one name for what they are peddling, in different parts of the blog. I have chosen the one in the body of the text when there are more than two listed, and not the ones below the picture on the right.
The websites associated above are accurate as of February 17, 2009. It is most likely that these associations will change over time.

I think Google Cash Scam is one of the worse of these all above. We get emails on a weekly basis regarding how people got scammed by the Google Cash and Google Cash Cow affiliate websites.
)
One of these users even wrote a short review in our Google Cash Review post’s comments section regarding his “journey” with one of the Google Cash websites
(I’d happily post a link if it’s permitted, but it’s not in my intention to spam your blog

Hey Gary, thanks for the comment, and feel free to post that link.

Hi waffles,
Our review, based on the users’ experience and our own is here: http://devoracles.com/google-cash-explaining-why-is-it-a-scam
We were wondering a lot whether this scam should be reported to the applicable governmental office or just ignore it, it’s still weird though that the Google brand is actually a registered trademark and Google seemingly does nothing against them. It’s really odd in my humble opinion.

Hey Gary, and thanks for the link. Great article.

The legitimate government websites for grants, tax credits, etc. is described and posted at the following:

I was naively interested in the $12,000 “Grant Kit” website and ready to submit my CC # for the S&H fee until I read the very small print about the almost $60. monthly fees I would face 7 days after applying. I then called their toll free # inquiring to that monthly fee which was justified as a membership fee allowing me full access to call them back (toll free), anytime, if I needed assistance filling out grant paperwork. What’s that about? I was given the option however, to call and cancel my membership 10-14 days AFTER receiving my paperwork but, again, 1st monthly payment would’ve already been taken out. SCAM is written all over this one!

Yes and many people don’t stop to think as you did, which is what these scammers are banking on.

Good research.
Another one for your list.
JasonBerinski.com is one of the ones being used to promote emillionaireinstitute in the UK (via adwords and facebook ads)
You can report Google trademark violations to them at: http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/request.py?contact_type=g_trademark&ctx=contactpolicy
And complain about adwords ads at:
http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/request.py?contact_type=adfeedback

Hi Waffles – just to add that ironically JasonBerinski.com is one of the urls in the adwords ads on this page.
Might want to add that one to your block list.
Unless it’s here so that people click on it and cost these scammers money.
February 22nd, 2009 at 4:57 pm
Waffles, i’ve been reading your blog ever since i’ve found and it actually helped me find more scam sites than those i already seen. while looking around i found this site ( http://www.antiscams.info/ ), which is pretty much every one of the scams you’ve published put in one. Once again I apologize for bothering you.
February 22nd, 2009 at 11:40 pm
Hey “Not Kevin” – thanks for the URL update. I’ll add it to the list… and to the blocked list. Wasn’t my idea to have them on the page but your comment is funny and ironic when you think about it.
Johaely – thanks for reading! I featured antiscams.info in this post a couple weeks ago! Great minds think alike.

http://www.federalgovernmentgrantsolutions.com or Federal Government Grant Solutions is an unethical site, because one look at the source code reveals that the counter for ‘found qualified grants’ is based on a Math.random javascript computation executed at a given interval.

Looks like the mainstream news media has finally picked up on the Grants scams story:
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&hs=BKy&q=Obama+Grant+scams&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=kF6xSaqoO6KHjAfBsJX0BQ&sa=X&oi=news_result&resnum=1&ct=title

Let’s hope they act. And crack down on the Make Money with Google, Acai Weight Loss and other junk too.
March 6th, 2009 at 11:00 am
Yes – the flood gates of negative new stories are open. I’m sure they are all starting to think of what their next scam will be.
March 7th, 2009 at 1:52 am
Gee are there any genuine online jobs out there
March 16th, 2009 at 9:53 am

March 29th, 2009 at 5:04 am

The bottom line in most of these is to “READ ” the fine print and “NOT” give your credit card numbers to anyone unless you THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATE them.
April 5th, 2009 at 6:45 pm
I myself have been facing issues ever since the economy went “into recession” (read “crashed”) and online work from home is one of the things I looked into. Another way to spot a scam site is reading through their terms of service… they have clauses set up so that you can’t sue them if their claims turn out to be false. Now, why on Earth would they need to put something like that on there if they were legitimate? Well, they wouldn’t.
However, if anyone ever DOES find a legit one, by all means, let me know. I’m starting an online course through Ashford U. and wouldn’t mind having a little extra income. LoL
April 8th, 2009 at 5:48 am
Unfortunately, with the Google Cash Kit scam, they do not tell you that after you pay $2.95 you will autmatically be billed $69.95 a month for their worthless information. You have to cancel within 7 days to avoid this!
April 20th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
I could have missed it but i found one called Kevincashesout.com
April 30th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
Here’s another one to add: http://www.grants360.com – more of the same tripe.
May 7th, 2009 at 4:19 am
I almost gave my credit card number to wealthresource.org Good thing I thought of looking it up under “scams” first.
