The Great Gatsby Trailer
Last week saw the release of the trailer for the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio movie, “The Great Gatsby” which is based on the 1925 book by F. Scott Fitzgerald. This will be the sixth film adaptation of the novel, the first being a silent film in 1926. Reaction to the trailer is mixed, as well as the music included in it by Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Jack White. Leo has been the go-to guy for several films set in the early 20th century, such as Titanic, J. Edgar and The Aviator.
The trailer sets the film up with the following narrative:
New York, 1922. The tempo of the city had changed sharply. The buildings were higher. The parties were bigger. The morals were looser and the liquor was cheaper. The restlessness approached hysteria.
“The Great Gatsby” is a film by Baz Luhrman, and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey, Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, and Jason Clarke. It is slated for a Christmas 2012 release and will be shown in Real3D.

It looks well done, but there isn’t much in the trailer that makes me want to see it.
