7787856151 Phone Number Bothering You?
Is the phone number 778-785-6151 phone number bothering you and now you want to know who it is? Lucky for you, this is nothing more than a pesky telemarketer you can and SHOULD ignore! Read on for more details:
Survey/Cruise Telemarketer
aka “Political Opinions of America”
Yet another phone number added to the long list of “take a survey and get a free cruise” telemarketing phone numbers. This latest number on our list is a British Columbia-based phone number, and it’s most likely that this place and the call did not originate from there. They tell you that they want you to take a political survey – probably because people are so opinionated in politics. The survey is simply a front, as is the “prize” they offer. This is their way of circumventing the Do Not Call registry. See our longer article on the free cruise telemarketing scam.
Calling 778-785-6151 back will yield you the following message:
Hello, you have received a call from us because you’ve been carefully selected to participate in a short research survey. To being the survey press 1 now. To decline the survey and be removed from our list, press 9
If you don’t press anything, or if you press 1 for the survey, you’ll hear the following message:
You were called to participate in a survey and now the survey time has expired. If you would not like to participate in any future surveys, press 1 now.
Sometimes you’ll hear “This is Ann from Political Opinions of America” on the message as well. It also doesn’t matter if immediately call them back – the time is always expired in their message. Why? This “expired” message is an attempt to fool you into thinking they won’t call back, and to avoid angry calls. And really, the call was never about the survey anyway, but about peddling their cruise. Attempting their opt-out method doesn’t always work.
The Political Opinions of America website does exist, and has a “number removal” link. It’s unclear if this removal actually works, or if they’re just trying to get you to verify your phone number by “removing” it. The site was only created on January 24, 2012, which could lead one to believe it is merely a facade to front their phony cruise giveaway. Though their “contact” page only has a simple contact form, their privacy policy does provide an email address to contact them for removal.
Block ‘em or ignore ‘em. But don’t fall for this spam tactic.
The recording you receive from this phone number is identical to many others, such as these:
