Is the number 507-540-0492 bothering you and now you want to know who it is? This is absolutely NOT an important call and we’ll tell you who it is. Read on for more info:
“Cardmember Services” aka Credit Card Telemarketer
These people want to lower your interest rates, which includes you handing them some of your personal information. Just be sure not to ask them question about who they are, because they will not be as quick to give you answers.
Should you decide to call 507-540-0492, you’ll be met with the following message:
You have been contacted for telemarketing purposes. If you do not wish to receive these calls and would like to be put on our Do Not Call list, please press 1. if you would like to to speak to a live person, press 2.
So they tell you immediately that they are telemarketers. It’s curious how the voice in the message emphasizes the word “our” in “our Do Not Call List.” Does this mean they only recognize their own Do Not Call list and not the national Do Not Call registry?
By the way, if you’ve been on the Do Not Call registry for over 31 days, they shouldn’t be calling you and you can file a complaint here. Unfortunately, it probably won’t do any good. Anyone who calls from a number using a fake disconnect message probably doesn’t follow telemarketing laws very carefully anyway.
