Warning: Fed Ex Email Virus

Did you receive an email from Fed Ex telling you that they couldn’t deliver your package, and included a link to a label for you to print? Don’t open it! It’s a virus and will probably damage your computer.

The version we saw today had a subject of Your parcel isn’t delivered. The email was sent from FedEx Express (our.customers@feedex.com). Notice that “Feed Ex” is spelled wrong in the return address. The body of the email is merely a graphic containing the following text:

Unfortunately we failed to deliver the postal package you have sent on the 27th of July in time because the recipient’s address is erroneous.

Please print out the label copy attacked and collect the package at our office.

There is a button that reads, “Print a shipping Label”

This is the graphic sent out with this Fed Ex email scam.

If you were to click on the link, you will not be sent to a Fed Ex address, but instead a page at pookyssweetshopt.com. On that page is a link to a zip file.

Do not download or open the zip file. It is not a label and will infect your computer with a virus. If you are waiting for a package from Fed Ex, or if you have sent one and there is any question, call them directly. This is not how they would handle such a situation, by the way. You may run across other incarnations, such as from UPS, DHL, or the USPS.

I received the FeedEx email and noticed
all of the suspicious elements. The bad
part is that feedex.dk is listed as safe
on Google and though .com is not .dk,
people, who are not web savvy, could
be easily fooled. Glad to have found
    your website !

this is the email I received. FedEx is spelled correctly. However the get receipt button is a link to Miracle Mineral Supplement website /php file. Which is probably where the virus is stored. I am guessing they realized people are not opening attached documents and are sending them to an actual website.. Below is the email…

  5. Carlo says says:

I received the same notification but the print function is blocked by Chrome (thank you). I went by the post office and they thought the message was good except there was no postal identification number. The clerk said a lot of people had been coming into the office and he told them to call FedEx. Is it correct that you are safe as long as you didn’t open the zip file?

    1. waffles says:

Yes, as long as you didn’t open the file, you should be fine.

  6. Francine says:

Do these sick illiterates have nothing else to do with their time?

    1. waffles says:

      Apparently not!

  7. Richard Carter says:

  8. vince says:

So what do you do if you have been hit with the virus? Someone I know has been
Targeted and is asking are they hacking his computer because he can now not access
Anything not even the internet would some care to tell me so I can advice him
Thank you and no wise (stupid) comments please we are not 5.

  9. JoJo says:

    Hey everyone,
I unfortunately found this a little too late. However, I clicked on the “GET POSTAL RECEIPT” (not having noticed the signs because I was expecting a delivery myself) on my phone and it just displayed a “cannot open page.” I got a second email today and saw different dates and numbers and finally caught onto the bad grammar, so I got suspicious and here I am.
Is it a good thing or a bad thing that my phone displayed the “cannot open page”? And could it possibly be infected with the virus?
Also, does anyone know of any symptoms that this virus has? I’m afraid that if I connect my phone to my computer it may pass on. I’m just really concerned now.
    Thanks in advance!
    -JoJo

  10. Cygneus says:

^ I am the same JoJo…. but my phone is better than my computer (!) and contains lots of things…. I do most of my “computing/business/communicating” on it…. ran my anti-virus software and it seems clear…?

    1. JoJo says:

You ran an anti-virus software on your phone?
I mean, I asked a friend of mine and he said it SHOULD be okay since the virus targets computers and not phones. I’m just paranoid that it could be and spread it to my computer. I have pictures and videos I want to transfer to my computer but, well, I just want to make sure and see if someone had a similar case and let me know if it’s safe. Thanks for sharing your similar experience, Cygneus :)
Did anyone else have the same experience? Does this virus only affect computers and are phones safe from it?

If it helps, I have an Android phone (HTC Evo Design 4G). Anyone know if they’re vulnerable?

  11. Richard says:

I have the virius. How do I get rid of it? I opened the Fed Ex e mail. :-(

    1. andy says:

I have the virus on my laptop. Did you get rid of yours? If so, can you tell me how so I can do the same!

  12. Elaine says:

  15. bamaboy says:

I got the same one today. Same as above.. If yall are expecting a package, do as I did. If they ever give you a tracking number, go to the shippers website and plug in the tracking number and see if it works. Both numbers I was given did not match anything in FedEx’s system.. Hope that helps and hopefully these guys get shut down..

  16. felix says:

They all most catch me, but When I was trying to download, it was a Winzip File, so that was made me think about it, because also that virus appear as a application hahaha, nice try F–KERS!!

    and thanks for the advice.
