Scam Alert: Fake Pizza Hut Gift Card Facebook Offer

If you’ve seen a graphic on Facebook promising you a gift card for Pizza Hut, you probably knew it was too good to be true, but if you clicked the link anyway, you may want to read on.

Some users have reported losing access to their Facebook accounts, while others have reported posts from their accounts on friends’ walls that they did not authorize.

The graphic itself reads:

Pizza Hut is giving away gift cards for Facebook users!
If you want one, I put the link in the description!
Get one before they’re gone!

Don't expect a gift card.

These graphics are spreading, and users are being tagged in them. While most people quickly realize this is phony, temptation has led some to click the link anyway – “just in case.”

When you click the link, you’re taken to pizza-hut-gift.appspot.com, which obviously isn’t a real facebook page. They want you to copy and paste a coupon code, which doesn’t actually do anything, though some believe their accounts have been compromised due to this procedure.

If you have clicked any of the links associated with this phony gift card, it is advised that you change your Facebook password as soon as possible.

Did you click the link? If so, what was your experience?
