Busch Gardens “Weapons Permitted” Sign

An image shows a Busch Gardens sign which welcomes weapons for the safety of its guests. Today we’ll look at this image to determine if it is real or not.

It’s a hoax.

First, let’s look at the wording of the sign in question:

For your safety and the safety of our other guests, Weapons Are Permitted at Busch Gardens. Thank you.

If you take a look at the Busch Gardens “Know Before You Go” page on their website, it states:

Busch Gardens does not actually permit weapons.

As a reminder, the following items are not permitted to be brought into Busch Gardens for the safety of our animals and our guests: weapons, knives, any other type of sharp objects, straws, large hard or soft coolers and any hazardous items or materials.

This is also repeated for their Williamsburg location as well.

It is unclear what the sign in the photo actually reads, or if that is even taken at Busch Gardens, but it clearly is not real.

We have attempted to contact Busch Gardens for a response to this photo, and will post their reply if and when we receive it.
