The aroma was created by Japanese company Yamamoto Perfumery after four months of development. The company decided to market the product after the scent was described as “the smell of bread and sunshine” in a survey. As part of the product’s research, the president of Yamamoto spent time smelling the foreheads of cats at cat cafés.

The fragrance is called “Moho Mohu Odeko no Kaori Fabric Water (Fluffy Forehead Fragrance Fabric Water,)” and is available from the online retailer, Felissimo, however it is currently only available in Japan for about $10.60 USD.

The fragrance has been described as a soft, sweet, and delicate scent, and is designed to be sprayed on fabrics, similar to that of Febreze.
