At a recent beer shopping spree, one of the items I picked up was a 12 oz bottle of Tangerine Wheat beer from Lost Coast Brewery. As I’m a huge fan of citrusy beers, this one sounded like a sure winner. After cracking it open, we’re greeted with a sweet aroma of tangerine, which is perhaps more pleasant than the taste. The cloudy orange color is unique and attractive. Let’s look at the label before we taste it.
The bottle itself has an interesting cartoon of a large tangerine character, wearing a suit at that, standing a field of wheat. For the “tale of the tape” we find the following info on the bottle:
Alcohol by volume
5.0%
Brewery
Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe
617 4th Street, Eureka California
“A crisp citrus beer with a Hint of tangerine”
Bottle size
12oz
Where Purchased
Total Wine & More, Henderson NV
What I found most unusual about this beer is that their slogan says ...

A recent trip to the Total Wine & More here in Las Vegas found the Waffles crew with an inordinate amount of craft beer to taste, so we decided we’d give our take on what we picked up. We are by no means experts or beer snobs, but we love trying new brews. So first up on our docket is Moosbacher Weissbier. Two things prompted us to grab this one from the shelf: The fact that it’s a wheat beer, and that awesome swing-top bottle. So maybe there are better reasons to choose a beer, but that’s what we went with here, and we’re sticking with it.
Looking at the bottle itself, we find the following info:
Brewery
Private Landbrauerei Scheuerer
Alc/Vol
4.7%
Additional Label info

Product of Bavaria, Germany

Moosbach Germany 92709
Imported by Eurobrew, Inc. Ashland, MA 01721

The reviews are rather lackluster on the beer. Personally, I thought it was pretty good, definitely worth trying.

Craft beer has become a phenomenon in recent years and in fact yours truly here at Wafflesatnoon has become a sort of recent craft beer fan convert, hopping comfortably on the bandwagon. The more I’ve learned about craft beer, the more fascinating it becomes… And the more questions I have. So I decided to seek answers from those who originally showed me the craft beer light, namely the beer fanatics at Cosmo’s Beer Blog. We asked Mike, one of the contributors, to sit down and clarify a few questions about the hobby for us.
Waffles: Why do you think craft beer has suddenly become such a phenomenon? Or has the rise in popularity been as sudden as it seems?
Mike: I think the surge of interest in craft beer has been coming for a long time. The beer market has been dominated by the same macro-brewing companies since the end of prohibition, and these ...

I love Jäger. Where else can you find substitutes for cough syrup, sleep aids, and Viagra – all in one bottle? It probably cures cancer, or at least makes you not care that you have it for a while. So when I drink Jäger, I like to take big shots. Most recipes are designed for small shots. When I’m preparing shots, I mix 1 to 1.5 oz of EACH part… so an Oatmeal Cookie could be as much as 6 oz of alcohol. And I don’t slam them – I drink them. That’s just me, and the recipes below reflect it. Don’t like it?
Google it.
Here’s a blog entry about a night with a few shots of Jäger…
Jäger Bomb
1 oz Jägermeister
8 oz Red Bull
Drop the shot glass full of Jager into the glass of Red Bull and chug it down! Variations of this include different energy drinks.

Out of sheer curiosity and boredom, I decided to conduct a little drinking experiment. I am going to take shots of Jäger every 15 minutes tonight and document the effects. As a preface, I must say that I am a huge alcoholic light weight. I know guys think you’re a pussy if you can’t drink 92 gallons of straight alcohol and walk away, but that’s not me. Get out my maxi pad to sleep on I guess. I actually once went to a doctor because of my intolerance for alcohol and he told me that some people lack an enzyme, or are deficient in it, to the point that their alcohol tolerance is considerably affected.
I love it!
A few shots and I’m done. Cheap, easy, and fast. I see nothing immasculine about that. I’m a lucky man! I don’t have to drink a fifth of vodka to get hammered. I just ...
