Engineers of the 1970′s certainly should have known better. It seems a bit strange that somewhere during the process of bundling 2 million tires someone didn’t think this might happen.

Having grown up the South, I agree. There are those Jeff Foxworthy fan types, who relish the label, while others find it condescending and offensive. Had I lived there into adulthood, I don’t think I would have embraced the word.

Since I moved from Canada to the USA I’ve discovered that even here in the heart of hillbilly country some people call themselves rednecks — which kind of annoys those locals who prefer to call themselves hillbillies. So I guess it’s hard to know how somebody will react to being called “redneck.”

Just for fun, perhaps we can compile a list of “The Top 100 Most Obtuse Cities”. Of course, we’ll have to make sure that we never mention the actual criteria used. The list will fuel intense internet debates for at least a year. And nobody will get hurt! Probably.
