Kill it With Fire

The Michigan man was at a Mobil gas station when he noticed a spider on his vehicle’s fuel door. Video surveillance picked up the man’s voice saying, “Is that a spider there?”

Rather than squish the spider or swipe it off of the car, the man reached into his pocket and produced a lighter. As he attempted to kill the arachnid with fire, flames around the gas pump and his car erupted.

Mobil employee Susan Adams shut off the pump from inside the store and called the fire department. The man who started the fire found a fire extinguisher and put out the fire before the fire department arrived.

The man wasn’t injured and his car wasn’t damaged. The gas pump, however, was destroyed. The man returned to the store the next day to apologize. No charges were filed and the damage will be covered by insurance.

The fate of the spider is not known.
