Snake Swallows Zookeeper “Shocking Video” Scam

Snake Swallows Zookeeper “Shocking Video” Scam

A video circulating on Facebook allegedly shows a “shocking video” of a zookeeper being swallowed by snake. The link, however, is just a scam.

The caption for the video often reads, “Shocking Video: A Giant Snake Swallows Up A Zookeeper!!!” and a description may read, “Heartbreaking video footage behind the scene!!” The following photo is often used:

This link will appear on your Facebook news feed because one of your friends was fooled into sharing it.

If you click the video link

Clicking the link will first take you to a fake Facebook page which tells you the video is “restricted” and you must share it first – as if that makes any sense whatsoever. After you’ve spammed your friends with the fake link, you’ll then be asked to fill out survey after survey to “prove” you are over 18. The video will never be seen, because no such video actually exists.

Once you’ve realized the whole thing was a ruse to get you to fill out surveys, you may also notice new browser tool bars and adware installed on your computer.

The photo, as our friends at Hoax Slayer have pointed out, has been circulating for several years with a variety of erroneous captions.

Bottom Line

There is no “shocking” video to be seen. The fake video link is a ruse to get you to fill out surveys, spam your friends on Facebook, and install malicious software.
