A fake image has circulated heavily showing President Obama standing next to a mile marker number 69.

The fake image was put into heavy circulation by the twitter account banditqueen_ when it was posted on September 3, 2015. The caption merely read “the leader of our country.” It depicts the President in casual clothes leaning over a mile marker with the suggestive number 69.

Real Photo

The actual photo was posted a day earlier on the White House Instagram account, showing President Obama standing next to a marker to show how much Exit Glacier in Alaska had receded over time. The marker shows a date of 1961, which was the year the President was born.

Markers throughout Exit Glacier show how much it's receded over time. The impacts of climate change are real, and the people of Alaska are living with them every day. It's never been more important for us to work together to address this challenge. -bo
