According to Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda, the new rug, which was located at the sheriff’s administration building, cost $500.

The forest green rug which includes the sheriff’s yellow badge was on display for two months in the entrance area. A deputy found the mistake Jan. 14. Once the mistake was discovered, the department immediately rolled the rugs up and is in the process of sending them back to the manufacturer.

Barreda said the mistake came from the rug manufacturer, who has agreed to reprint the rug and provide it to the sheriff’s office. Another rug from the same manufacturer did not have this mistake.
