Woman Receives “Overweight Haters” Card

A woman was handed a card while on the London Underground from “Overweight Haters Ltd.”

The woman claimed to have been handed the card while on the Tube. She posted a photo of the card on November 28, which reads:

Overweight Haters Ltd
It’s really not glandular, it’s your gluttony…

Our organisation hates and resents fat people. We object to the enormous amount of food resources you consume while half the world starves. We disapprove of your wasting NHS money to treat your selfish greed. And we do not understand why you fail to grasp that by eating less you will be better off, slimmer, happy and find a partner who is not a perverted chubby-lover, or even find a partner at all.

We also object that the beautiful pig is used as an insult. You are not a pig. You are a fat, ugly human.

It isn’t clear to what extent these cards are being handed out, although some readers on Twitter have suggested that other cards may have been distributed.

It has been surmised that the cards may be the work of – or at least inspired by – a group that was banned from Reddit called “Fatpeoplehate.” A group by the same name on VOAT has a discussion of the photo which was created a day after the image of the card appeared online. Most comments by that group are in support of the card.

Bottom Line

A London woman states that she was handed an insulting card by “Overweight Haters Ltd.” It isn’t clear how isolated the cards are, but some have suggested they may be tied to (or inspired by) a group called “Fat People Hate” which was banned on Reddit.
