Viral Video: Surprise Inside Tree

A video with over 3 million views on YouTube in its first 48 hours online shows a tree which has been sawed in half. As the camera zooms in, there is a brief while a bloody creature begins to emerge, followed by a man shouting, “Oh my God!”

Over the next minute, the injured creature slowly emerges and flops onto the ground. It continues to slowly move throughout the 90 second video.

Readers debated whether it was a snake or a snake-like amphibian (such as the caecilian, or the so-called “Penis Snake“).

Perhaps one of the most burning questions was not whether or not it was a snake or amphibian, but why the man filmed in vertical mode.
