Fake News: Tina Turner Rushed to Hospital

A viral story tonight claims that Tina Turner was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The story, however, is fake.

Tina Turner Hospitalized?

The bogus story comes from the website Buzzfed.net, which is not affiliated with the well-known site Buzzfeed. In the fake story, we read, “Tina Turner Has Been Found Unconscious In Her Hotel Bedroom And Has Been Rushed To The Hospital Reports Are Saying That She Is In Very Criticial Condition.”

Note the odd use of caps for each word, and spelling error for the word “critical.”

The false story is completely fabricated; no reputable media outlets have reported any such incident.

The content of Buzzfed is click-bait fake stories which generate high traffic thanks to shocking headlines, which at least in this case, are completely fabricated.

In 2014, Turner was the subject of another false report which claimed she had suffered a stroke. That rumor was shot down by Turner’s manager and Oprah Winfrey.

As of this writing, Tina Turner is alive and well. The story is merely a hoax.
