A graphic circulating on social media claims that Chick-fil-A will be opening on Sundays. It’s not true.
Closed Sundays
Chick-fil-A has maintained a policy of closing on Sundays, which the company explains on its website:
Our founder, Truett Cathy, made the decision to close on Sundays in 1946 when he opened his first restaurant in Hapeville, Georgia. He has often shared that his decision was as much practical as spiritual. He believes that all franchised Chick-fil-A Operators and their Restaurant employees should have an opportunity to rest, spend time with family and friends, and worship if they choose to do so. That’s why all Chick-fil-A Restaurants are closed on Sundays. It’s part of our recipe for success.
Fake Graphic
In September 2015, a graphic began circulating which claimed that Chick-fil-A would begin serving customers starting in October. It read, “After years of being one of the only national fast food chains franchises to be closed on Sunday’s the CEO made an announcement on Friday to begin opening the doors on Sunday’s nationwide.”
The graphic contained several grammatical errors and did not even stylize the company name properly (“fil” being lower case when properly written).
No such announcement was made, but the graphic received heavily social media sharing, forcing the company to field dozens of questions about the fake graphic. They repeatedly confirmed that Chick-fil-A would remain closed on Sundays.
@BigBoiiHud66 We’re happy to clear this up for you. We will continue to remain closed on Sundays.

Bottom Line
Chick-fil-A will remain closed on Sundays, despite a heavily-circulating graphic which claims otherwise.
