An article in heavy circulation this week claims that Michael Jordan was robbed of his personal Air Jordan Gamma 11’s during an in-store appearance. The article, however, is fake.
Michael Jordan Robbed?
The story comes from the humorous website CreamBMPDaily, which posted the fictitious account of the robbery in which a man approached Jordan at an in-store signing and forced the NBA legend to sign an autograph and hand over his shoes.
The website’s about page, however, states, “CreamBmp.com Written by comedian CREAM. This website is comprised of satire and parody of current news and urban culture. For entertainment purposes only.”
The story was circulated by many readers who were unaware of its humorous nature, amassing over 100,000 likes on Facebook.
Bottom Line
Michael Jordan was not robbed of his Air Jordans at gunpoint during an appearance.
