A report this weekend claims that Vine star Bryan Silva was killed for overusing racial slurs. Is this true or false?
The story is fake.
It was published by the fake news website Huzlers, which has posted a series of fake, sensational stories since it first appeared in late 2013. In the fake Silva story, we read:
Around 11:00 a.m., Brian, 23, was gunned down just outside a doorway at 1840 W Broad St. He had been shot five times in the head, becoming the first Caucasian killed in the area for overusing the “N” word.
About Huzler’s
Huzler’s description states, “Huzlers.com is a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.” The website appeared in late 2013 with fake stories about Sharkeisha, who appeared in a viral YouTube video. More recently, fake stories have claimed that The Undertaker’s Wrestlemania loss was a mistake and Lil Terrio was hurt while stuck in a tube at Chuck E. Cheese’s.
Bryan Silva is described as a bodybuiler, adult film star, and aspiring rapper. He had over a quarter million followers on Vine at the time the story was published.
Bottom Line
Vine star Bryan Silva was not killed for using racially offensive language. That report comes from a fake news website which publishes outlandish stories.
