A fake movie poster circulating online shows Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starring in the role of Johnny Bravo.
Fake “Bravo” Movie Poster
The poster appeared on social media in October 2013 and features Johnson with blonde hair that resembles the star of the Cartoon Network series Johnny Bravo, which aired from 1997 to 2004.
There had been talk of a Johnny Bravo movie starring Johnson more than a decade ago, but the idea never materialized. It would appear that this was the idea for the fake movie poster.
Variety noted that Johnson was actually a fan of the original series. “When the Rock mentioned to Neal (Moritz) and myself he was a big fan of ‘Johnny Bravo’ and thought it was a great idea for a movie,” said Marty Adelstein, “we thought it was a natural fit and potentially a great role for him to play, so we went aggressively after the property.”
Further proving that the poster is fake is that it features a “February 30” release, which is a non-existent date.
Despite the 2002 story in Variety, there have been no announcements or updates regarding Johnson starring as Bravo in the near future. A glance at Johnson’s IMDB listing shows films in the works through 2019, but no mention of a Johnny Bravo picture.
Bottom Line
Dwayne Johnson is not starring as Johnny Bravo in a movie entitled Bravo. The movie poster is fake, but was apparently inspired by talk of such a film back in 2002.
