How to Disable Fast Free Converter Ads

Have you seen annoying ads at the bottom of your web browser from Fast Free Converter? Luckily these ads are rather easy to disable. Here’s how:

Fast Free Converter Ads

These ads are generated by a browser extension, which can easily be disabled and removed.

Fast Free Converter 3.0 displays a banner ad across the bottom of your web browser. We were able to locate it as an add-on/extension and also as a program within Windows. Removing it from both locations is the best way to ensure it doesn’t reappear.

Remove Add-Ons/Extensions

In Chrome, click on the menu (three horizontal bars) at the top right, then select Settings and choose the Extensions menu. Disable “Fast Free Converter 3.0.” In Internet Explorer, go into Tools->Manage Add-Ons and be sure you’re on the “Toolbars and Extensions” menu to remove it there (see screen shot below). In Firefox, go into the menu (top left) and choose Add Ons to find it there.

While you’re disabling this extension/add-on, look for any other unwanted add-ons and remove those as well. There’s a good chance you’ll see some you don’t recognize or want.

Add/Remove Programs

Fast Free Converter is probably also installed on your computer as an application and should be removed from the Add/Remove Programs control panel. In Windows 7/8 go into Control Panel->Programs & Features. (You can also search for Add/Remove Programs). Find Fast Free Converter 3.0 and remove it. The removal process appeared to work for us.

Run an anti-spy program

If the above techniques don’t work (though they should), and you already use Superantispyware (or a similar product), a “complete” scan of your system should locate such malware and prompt you to get rid of it. You may want to do this anyway, just in case other stealthy extensions were installed at the same time as Fast Free Converter.

Below are a couple of screen shots of Fast Free Converter and the removal process:

The above techniques should remove this annoyance from your computer.
