Spam of the Day 2/29/2012: Barclays Bank 419

I received this familiar junk mail in my inbox today. It’s the typical 419 scam with Barclays Bank wanting to give me 10 million dollars.

The return email address is [email protected] with the name “BARCLAYS BANK PLC LONDON.” The body of the email reads:

Obviously this is just your run-of-the-mill 419 scam. Apparently these people are banking on the old saying that there is a sucker born every minute. As old and well-known as these scams are, people still fall for them.

What’s rather humorous about this email is that it doesn’t even include the form to be filled out. So I wrote back from a completely different email address, asking “how do i be getting my money?” and as of yet have had no response. If I ever get a response, I’ll post it here.
