I’ve enjoyed the first month I’ve shared with my Nokia Lumia 920, aside from a couple of small problems – one of them being repeatedly asked for my visual voice mail password. Tonight I finally overcame this problem.
The short answer is that your “visual voicemail” password should be the same as your regular voicemail password. That said – I never had a regular voicemail password in the first place, nor did I have any idea what visual voicemail was!
So my tech buddies all scolded me for not having a voicemail password to begin with, so the first thing I did was to go into my voicemail and creat a password. Then the next time I was prompted for my visual voicemail password by my Nokia phone, I entered it there.
But wait – even after entering my password, I was still prompted for my visual voicemail password over and over again!
I thought all was lost at this point. I decided to try restarting my phone, and alas the incessant nagging has finally disappeared. So if you are being hounded by your Nokia for a visual voicemail password, here are the steps I took, which may work for you:
- Set up a voicemail password if you don’t already have one.
- Enter your voicemail password when it prompts for a visual voicemail password
- Restart your phone.
