A viral video in May 2015 showed an alligator which ripped the front fender off of a truck.
Gator vs Truck
In a 31-second YouTube video entitled “Gator vs Truck” we see the driver’s side view of a truck, which slowly approaches an alligator in a grassy area. When the truck first approaches the gator, the creature lunges toward the vehicle, and the driver appears to scold the gator by saying, “Hey watch my truck.”
As the driver continues to inch forward, the alligator initially moves backward, but eventually lunges again, this time ripping the front fender off of the truck. The driver can be heard saying, “Oh well that’s nice.”
After the fender is completely ripped from the vehicle, the driver simply states, “Son of a gun.”
While some commenters sarcastically poked fun at the flimsiness of the truck’s fender, it should be noted that the alligator’s bite can be up to 3700 pounds per square inch. In 2002, the crocodile’s bite was compared by a Florida State University researcher to the jolt you would feel if you tied a rope to a small pickup truck and tried to hold on after dropping it from the roof of a tall building.
