All of the trash bins in Peachhaven, East Sussex were secretly painted to resemble Minions, and no one is sure why.
“Binions”
Residents were surprised to find their small town’s trash bins had been transformed overnight to resemble 10 different “Minion” characters from the Despicable Me films.
The bins were painted blue and yellow, and were capped off with arms and googly eyes. Locals have referred to the creations as “Binions.”
Both the mayor and Town Council have stated that they did not know the origin of the bins, but have actually praised the work to decorate the containers.
“Anything that encourages people to use the litter bins provided is a good thing as we want to keep the district clean and tidy for all to enjoy,” noted a spokesperson from the Lewes District Council.
One resident said that it has become a sort of game. “People have been going around trying to find all ten.”
