AuraVie SkinCare products are advertised as a way to “take more than 10 years off your skin.” Read our AuraVie reviews from editors and readers.
About AuraVie
There are two active websites for AuraVie: auravie.com and auravietrialkit.com. These domains were registered in August 2009 and June 2011 respectively. The latter the more popular of the two, and offers a “free trial” without the opportunity to simply buy the products.
The skin care system consists of three products: Renew Purifying Cleansing Toner Gel, Revive Age Defying Serum, and Replentish Day/Night Moisturizer.
How much does AuraVie cost?
If you buy direct from the website, the prices are:
- Age-Defying Serum: $129.99
- Refresh facial peel: $119.99
- Replentish Day/Night Moisturizer: $139.99
- 3-in-1 Skincare System: $219.99
The “trial kit” will cost you $4.95 for a 10-day trial. After 10 days you will be automatically enrolled in their auto-ship program, which means you will be charged $97.88 every month.
Be aware that the trial begins as soon as you order, not after it arrives, meaning that by the time you receive your kit, your “trial period” will already be about half over.
Our AuraVie Review
By far the biggest problem with AuraVie is regarding the minuscule “trial” period and auto-ship program. Many customers don’t realize the 10 days starts from the moment they order, and feel as though it is a bait-and-switch tactic. Keep in mind that returning your order will also result in shipping and “restocking” fees, so they will get your money one way or the other. Shipping aside, we must then ascertain if the product actually works. We had several testers try it out and give us their opinions.
Perhaps as a surprise in light of the auto-ship concerns, our testers reported generally positive results for AuraVie. The day/night moisturizer especially received high marks, while the age-defying serum received the most mixed opinions.
The smell and texture also both received high marks across the board, with most testers commenting how soft and smooth their skin felt after only a few days.
When we asked our testers if they would pay $98 a month for the product, the overall consensus was that they would seek a less expensive alternative.
Other AuraView Reviews
The chorus of disenchanted customers livid about the 10-day trial is damning. Consider:
- Over 400 complaints with the BBB
- 45 reports at Ripoff Report
- 15 pages of complaints at Scambook.com.
Bottom Line
AuraVie is an expensive solution to which less expensive products may perform similarly. By far the biggest problem is with the auto-ship program, which leaves many customers feeling conned. This is unfortunate, as our testers gave AuraVie generally favorable reviews. If you can find it from a third party vendor or without the autoship, you may want to give it a try if the price doesn’t bother you.
