SammyDress.com boasts over 200,000 product lines and offer discounts for bulk purchases. The website was registered on May 17, 2011 and is located in China.

There are a variety of products available, with the majority being women’s attire and accessories. There are weekly deals which range from 40% to 60% off.

Our SammyDress Review

We ordered a two products from SammyDress in March 2013. The following pros and cons are based on our experience and that of others who have purchased products from the website:

SammyDress Pros

• Price. The prices listed are rather inexpensive compared other online retailers
• Selection. The website boasts a wide selection of products.

SammyDress Cons

• Shipping. We’ve heard complaints of orders taking up to several months to arrive, even when expedited shipping is purchased. In our case it took about 8 weeks to receive our products.
• Customer Service. The communication system with customer service is lacking and trouble ticket system is slow. Their online “chat” is essentially just an old-fashioned email.
• Out of Stock. A common complaint is that after an order is placed, the item is sometimes declared out of stock. The customer can then choose to wait for the item to become available, or opt for a refund. You may not receive this “out of stock” notice until weeks after making the purchase.
• Lack of Notification. Unlike most retailers, SammyDress never sent us an email confirmation for our purchase or when our items shipped.
• Quality/Accuracy of Photos. The photos don’t always accurately reflect the product received, whether it is the material, color, or length. A “cotton” dress in the catalog may end up being cheap polyester. Satisfaction with the quality of clothing seems to be hit and miss.
• Sizing. A thorough inspection of their sizing chart indicates their dresses tend to be smaller than American consumers may expect. Larger sizes are difficult to find.

Bottom Line

In a word: Cheap. Cheap prices, cheaply made, and cheap looking products. Horribly slow shipping, inaccurate product photos, and inept customer round out an overall bad experience with SammyDress.com.
