Have you seen advertisements for Customized Fat Loss? Today we’ll take a look at this program and ask for user reviews as well.
Customized Fat Loss
CustomizedFatLoss.com can been seen in advertisements on television and especially on the internet. It boasts figurehead Kyle Leon, who we have encountered here in previous reviews. The website was registered in March 2011.
We spotted an advertisement for this website which included the following text:
5 Veggies That KILL Stomach Fat?
See 5 “odd” veggies that boost your metabolism and kill lower abdominal fat.
Which veggies kill fat?
Website
When you arrive at CustomizedFatLoss.com, you’ll be required to provide an email address to “get started.” Upon supplying said address, you’ll be met with a 24-minute infomercial. Here we learn that the Customized Fat Loss program emphasizes fat burning and metabolism boosting “tricks” as opposed to muscle gains promised by Leon’s other touted product we discussed earlier this year, Muscle Maximizer.
In the video, Leon is joined by Dr. Jill Hollowell, who claims food is the “best medicine” to boost metabolism. She claims that every person’s body is akin to a safe, with each person having their own combination to unlock fat burning potential.
Red Flag
In the first several minutes of watching the video, we did spot one small red flag. Both Hollowell and Leon continuously mention “weird tricks” which is verbiage that has been used (dare we say overused) by shady Clickbank affiliate marketers for several years. Leon uses the word “tricks” over a dozen times in the video. Perhaps it is forgivable to include such marketing hype in an infomercial, but we thought it was worth pointing out.
In the video Leon discuss two “secrets” to losing weight.
Secret 1 – Eat for your age.
During this portion of the video, we go into one of those annoying hand-drawing voice-over animations which explains that our metabolism and bodies change as we age. Kyle claims that certain foods can “overcome genetics.” “Age Defying Nutrition” means less carbohydrates and more protein for most people.
Secret 2 – Eat for your body type
This includes a discussion of different body types, which is why he claims generic diet plans work for some than others. He suggests that you determine your body type and determine how to approach fat loss.
The Program
Kyle Leon says he will show you foods to “awaken” fat burning properties and put your body in a “24/7 fat-burning state” with a customized nutrition plan.
“If you follow this system, you’ll lose weight… 12 to 24 pounds in 6 to 12 weeks. Guaranteed.”
He also claims it is not a crash diet, but rather an “anti-diet” and such a customized plan from a nutritionist would cost $5000.
Bonuses
Toward the end of the video, we learn that there are four bonuses – which he claims would cost nearly $700 if purchased separately:
- Customized Fat Loss Training – A 12-week exercise program
- Customized Fat Loss supplementation – An “e-guide” which discusses supplements to use and avoid.
- Customized Unlimited Upgrades – Free upgrades to any updates to the program
- Peak in a Week – A one-week “blueprint” to look 10-20 pounds leaner “inside of a week.” Includes an “ab-popping technique” to “look more shredded than you really are.”
Finally we learn there is a 60-Day Money back guarantee.
Cost
As with Muscle Maximizer, the cost of this program is $47 to start. If you attempt to navigate away from the website without ordering, you’ll be met with a popup window offering the program for $19 upfront, with the option to pay the rest after three weeks.
Upselling
We have heard complaints of immediate upselling. So when you make your purchase and are ready to get started, you’ll be given the opportunity to upgrade. In fact, you may be given several upgrade opportunities.
Affiliates
Perhaps our biggest beef with this program isn’t the program itself, but with the vast number of affiliate websites promoting it – and their methods of promotion. Searching for reviews of the product will yield dozens of fake review websites by affiliates selling it. Some even use the word “scam” in the title – hoping to catch anyone searching for legitimate reviews – but then go on to give the product a glowing endorsement with a massive “Add to Cart” button. Would you trust a “review” by someone selling the product?
Bottom Line
Kyle Leon may offer some sound weight loss advice in his program. We aren’t particularly impressed, however, by his marketing techniques. We’re even less impressed by affiliates jumping on the bandwagon and drowning real reviews of the product with their fake offerings.
It should also be noted that the video never answers the question posed in the ad regarding which veggies kill fat.
